The addition of Hydroprojekt is in line with the DHV Group's ambition to strengthen its position in the Polish market and the global water management market.
Hydroprojekt, with more than 55 years of experience, complements the Group's broadly-based water profile and establishes the DHV Group as the leading water consultant in Poland. "The Polish market has huge promise and we expect significant growth as a result of further influx of EU funding amounting to approximately €17 billion for the water sector up to the year 2013," said Piet Besselink, Vice-President of the DHV Group Executive Board. "Following the merger with Hydroprojekt, we will have about 400 employees in Poland, which will allow for an even more significant engagement in flood protection and hydropower projects. We look forward to bringing the world-class knowledge and capabilities, available within the DHV Group, to Hydroprojekt in support of serving our clients."
Hydroprojekt's expertise in dams and hydropower will also strengthen the DHV Group's global water management business through its extensive network of companies in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.
